    Nature Based Guided Meditation

Come join me on a journey that can transform your relationship to yourself and Nature.  This is a heart centered guided meditation practice that focuses on building awareness through breath and imagery.

This class will awaken an awareness of body, mind and spirit. Connect your feet to soft earth, rooting, grounding, stabilizing from the inside out with breath.  Open your heart to being present to life through your body, your organs, your skin, your bones.  Reach upward to touch the golden light of the Sun and the vast mystery of the starlit Heavens.  These energies will release waves of Light moving outward from yourself into the world. Learn a meditation practice that you can take with you when you work in your garden, go for a walk in the wood, or on a beach or simply sit in your backyard.

Carol Marcy is a certified meditation teacher having studied for over twenty years at the Washington Center for Consciousness Studies in D.C.  She was part of the avant-garde movement in modern dance in NYC in the 60s which led to a Masters in Dance/Movement therapy and then a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She was leading Forest Bathing Walks as a meditation practice on Cape Cod until the practice shifted to a virtual experience.  You are welcome to check out her website fo rmore information.  www.drcarolmarcy.com

The Enneagram of Belonging – A Contemplative Book Circle
    Oct 29 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
The Enneagram of Belonging - A Contemplative Book Circle

In this book circle, we will read and explore Christopher Heuertz’s book “The Enneagram of Belonging.” This is a series for those who are familiar with the Enneagram, know their type and would like to more deeply plumb the depths this multifaceted system. The Enneagram is a powerful tool for personal and spiritual growth, and the “The Enneagram of Belonging” can open deeper pathways for self-understanding.

In a contemplative, supportive way, we’ll use “The Enneagram of Belonging” to look more deeply at aspects of the Enneagram introduced in previous Enneagram classes, such as: Childhood wounds, Wings, Paths of integration and disintegration, Holy ideas and fixations, Virtues and passions, and Instincts and subtypes.

The class will meet on 6 Thursdays, October 1, 15, 29, November 12 and December 3 and 17.

The book must be purchased separately either online or at Pilgrim’s Landing. There is also an accompanying workbook available but not required for the class.

Nancy Benben has been a Spiritual Companion and teacher for many years at the Spiritual Life Center in West Hartford, CT.  She has extensive training using the Enneagram and Bio-Spiritual Focusing as tools for spiritual companionship and personal growth.  A graduate of Northwestern University and Hartford Seminary’s Women’s Leadership Institute, Nancy leads workshops and retreats in the Enneagram and Spiritual Companioning.

Once you register for the class, you will be sent a confirmation email from [email protected] (check you spam if you do not receive it), it will contain the Zoom link that you will click to join our Zoom “meeting”. The same Zoom link should be used each week.

    Morning Meditation
    Nov 2 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

We will be continuing our weekly meditation groups via Zoom as we explore this different way of gathering and sharing our practice.  Our experience over the last few months reveals that gathering and practicing in this way is very beneficial…helping us to feel more grounded, more connected, and more balanced during this time of great uncertainty and disruption.

Please join us as we begin each week freshly, renewing and restoring our balance, and soothing our souls.  We will cultivate greater intimacy with some of the deeper layers of our own experience, and open the door to seeing the beauty that is always here…if we just turn our gaze towards its location, and patiently watch.

Once you register for the weekly meditation, you will be sent a confirmation email from [email protected](check you spam if you do not receive it), it will contain the Zoom link that you will click to join our Zoom “meeting”. You can create a Zoom account and download the necessary software at www.zoom.us. The same Zoom link should be used each week.

    Virtual Poetry Writing Sessions
    Nov 2 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
    Virtual Poetry Writing Sessions

Let’s write some Poetry!! And have some fun.  I don’t know about you but poetry has been immensely helpful in these chaotic times when the emotional roller coaster takes a deep dive. I take my heart to pen and write myself upright and grounded again.

Come join me, touching into the creative expression of your soul’s longing, your deepest dreams or what seems to bubble up from nowhere.  No prior writing experience is necessary.  The format on zoom will begin with a brief centering meditation.  A poem, read by me or someone from the group, will serve as inspiration opening the door of the heart to let the words flow.  Be happily surprised.

This class is led by Carol Marcy, who has been writing off and on for a long time and over this last year or so she has been an active participant in a poetry class/group that meets twice a week. She won the Atwood Museum’s 2020 haiku contest.

Once you register, you will be sent a confirmation email from [email protected] (check you spam if you do not receive it), it will contain the Zoom link that you will click to join our Zoom “meeting”.
