Equinox Drumming Ceremony for the Earth
March 20 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm$10
Join us for an Equinox Drumming Ceremony Honoring Grandmother Earth
With Carol Marcy
Through drumming the Heartbeat of Grandmother Earth we come together in community for the benefit of all of life everywhere and to acknowledge our gratitude and appreciation for the Grandmother Earth. This ceremony takes place on the convergence of the Spring Equinox and the Full Moon. At this time these energies are very powerful as we pray for the health and well-being of this beautiful but challenged planet we call home. The ceremony includes an altar ritual where you will be able to offer a prayer to Grandmother Earth.
“A Cry” is going out around the world – there are simultaneous circles like this occurring worldwide.
What to bring: a drum or rattle if you have one. Please dress comfortably for sitting or lying down on the floor. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat, blanket and/or pillow.
*This event comes from a vision of Charles Lawrence, a psychologist and shaman, who was a student of famed mythologist Joseph Campbell and for many years worked closely with tribal elders and healers around the world. Blackfoot in origin, and adopted by Hopi Grandmother Carolyn Twangyawmama, Lawrence represents many other Native American tribes in his work. He is a founding elder of the Dance For All People, the Dance Spirit Renewal inspired by traditional Shoshone Naraya.
The $10 suggested donation will be a split offering with a portion going to the Association for the Preservation for Cape Cod.
